General Information

1 Meadowbank Road is situated in the village of Burravoe in the south-eastern corner of the island of Yell, about five miles from the ferry terminal at Ulsta.

The largest of Shetland’s North Isles, Yell, which measures about 19 miles long by 7.5 miles wide, sits between Mainland Shetland and the neighbouring island of Unst.

The population of around 900 benefits from excellent facilities (given the island location) which are mostly based at Mid Yell in the centre of the island, although Burravoe itself has a primary school, marina & pier, plus a small museum at the Old Haa by the house, and there are local shops by the ferry at Ulsta, and also at Aywick about five miles to the north.

Amenities at Mid Yell include another shop, a Junior High School, leisure centre & swimming pool with main hall, squash court, fitness suite & football pitch, plus a medical centre including dental surgery.

The house is within easy reach of the ferry to Mainland Shetland, a regular 20 minute ro-ro service which runs throughout the day to Toft about 10 minutes from Brae & Sullom Voe, and approximately 27 miles from Lerwick, putting Shetland’s main town within possible commuting distance.

Property Location

To reach the property drive into Burravoe and follow signs for the old Haa Heritage Centre / Museum. Meadowbank Road is on the left immediately after the museum; No.1 is on the corner on the left.

To see the location of the property in an overall Shetland context, adjust the zoom by clicking the + or - buttons. Use the 'Map', 'Satellite' & 'Hybrid' buttons to switch between an ordnance survey style road map, a satellite aerial photograph or a combination (hybrid) of the two. Please note that the date of the satellite image is unknown and may not show new buildings.

(Please be aware the Google Street View was taken on the date shown. The building and surroundings may have changed since then. We always recommend you view the property personally.)

Thanks again for your brilliant service with both my property sales over the past years. Your experience in Shetland is much noted with local people.

Selling my house whilst living in Edinburgh was a daunting prospect but I should not have worried. The communications between both parties was easy and the sale of my property went through without any hitches.

Location Desired

Please do not select all locations - different areas in Shetland have quite different characteristics. For example, it would be unlikely that a property in Lerwick will be of interest to someone considering a croft house in Yell or Unst.

Please note any additional requirements, queries or comments in the box provided.

Thank you for taking the time to complete this form.
