General Information

'Sentinels' is situated on the island of Bressay which lies off the east coast of Shetland just across Bressay Sound from Lerwick, about three miles from the ferry terminal.

The island, which has a population of around 400, is served by a quick five minute ro-ro ferry service which runs to the Esplanade right in the centre of Lerwick, the service generally running hourly throughout the day with extra crossings at peak times.

Local amenities on Bressay itself include a shop & post office two miles from the house, a community hall and all year round community cafe, heritage centre & marina, plus a licensed hotel and bar open for meals and drinks seven days a week, although the frequent ferry service means amenities in the town are relatively easily accessible.

During the summer months it is possible to access the neighbouring uninhabited island of Noss, an important National Nature Reserve notable for its bird life.

The property has uPVC double glazed windows and oil-fired central heating provided by a boiler housed in a cupboard in the living room. There is a telephone supply to the house although this is not presently in use, and a satellite dish with cabling in place to the sittingroom.

The sale will include all carpets and other fixed floor coverings, curtains & blinds, and light fittings, along with the white goods in the kitchen. The two single beds in bedroom 1 can also be left if required.
