Gardie Lane runs between Annsbrae Place on the Hillhead, and Commercial Street. No.8 is situated in the southern section of the lane between the flats at Mounthooly Place and Annsbrae Place. Pedestrian access can either be gained either Annsbrae Place (to the west of the houses at Annsbrae Court) or up from Commercial Street via Gardie Lane or Mounthooly Street & Chapel Place. Vehicular access is via Queens Place which leads to a public parking area in front of the block.
