local amenities

Bressay has its own local shop & post office, and primary school which are about 1½ miles from the house. There is also a Kirk, community hall and marina in the same area, plus Maryfield House Hotel by the ferry.

The five minute ferry crossing to the centre of Lerwick runs from the terminal about a mile from the house. The service across to Lerwick is presently under review with various options being considered including the possibility of a fixed link, although no firm decisions have yet been made.
